Beginnings
Neptune Diner, a cherished New York institution since 1984, began its journey in Astoria where it served as a beloved 24/7 community hub for four decades. Known for its classic diner fare, hearty Greek specialties, and timeless booths filled with late-night regulars and even the occasional celebrity, it became more than just a restaurant, it was part of the neighborhood’s fabric. Although the original location closed in July 2024 due to redevelopment, the spirit of Neptune Diner lives on through its new chapters in Bayside, Brooklyn, and Syosset.
New Chapter
Neptune’s Brooklyn location marked an exciting evolution for the brand, introducing its signature Greek-American comfort food and warm neighborhood hospitality to a new borough while retaining the classic charm guests love. The Bayside location, opened in 2020 on Bell Boulevard, brought with it a refreshed look and a modernized menu, quickly attracting both long-time fans and a growing community of new regulars. Most recently, in March 2025, Neptune expanded to Syosset, Long Island, transforming the former Celebrity Diner into a bright, spacious, and fully accessible destination. The Syosset restaurant blends retro nostalgia with contemporary comfort, serving the same beloved breakfast platters, burgers, and Greek favorites that built Neptune’s reputation.
Together, the Brooklyn, Bayside, and Syosset locations carry forward the Neptune legacy—offering warm hospitality, generous portions, and reliable comfort food that connects with guests across generations.
